I just upgraded my phone to a mytouch lg and havethis old but good HTC
Dream workhorse to play with.

I had previously upgraded to the HARD SPL and was running cyanogen. But a
native gnu/linux/gentoo system sounds fun and appealing. I got the sdcard
filesystem setup and I have been able to boot into shr from fastboot with
the shr kernal/ramdisk/fastboot image. But I would like to boot the
device into shr natively without requiring a fastboot tether.

I flashed the .fastboot image to the boot partition with fastboot, and
rebooted. It is at this point that I have problems. The phone will sit
at the tmobile splash screen for 3 or 4 minutes and then reboot. I know
the sd card filesystem is correct as I can use fastboot to boot shr. I
even tried flashing the .fastboot image to the recovery partition and boot
with Home+Power. Same problem.

1. Is the .fastboot image the right one for flashing to rom?
2. Can this be done on an HTC Dream with the HARD SPL or do I have to
unlock the bootloader fully at HTCdev (problematic as I have a t-mobile
version)?
3. Has anybody else successfully booted SHR on an HTC Dream from flash rom
and have any pointers/anecdotes?

Ideally I want to roll up with crossdev a whole gentoo stage 3, but I want
to get a native working environment with networking before I get my gentoo
chroot system going.

Thanks all
Neboglory
