I did not know tangogps shares location (it did not work for me at all). Which location sharing service do you mean?
I have been written something for myself, and did not update it, did not improve it yet. It works on maemo fromantle, though. http://norayr.arnet.am/meridian23 - shares location with jabber contacts, if they run this app too. Need to beautify it and port to SHR, surely. I have only gta-02 device though, and I still don't understand why gps does not fix for a long time.
