I had always thought the idea of the IETF process was to bring the assumptions out to the light of day, not to build them into the drafts (?)... IE, put the assumptions on the table. There are some actual requirements coming out of this thread --why not record them in the document, so they can be discussed in the open, rather than "assuming" them? :-) Russ
