That's a pretty strong statement. I've used Buslogic cards for a while
now, with no problems, on both Intel and Alpha platforms. The BT-958 is an
exceptional card, the tech support is pretty good, and they ( Mylex )
actively support the linux effort.
If you have some real proof of these "reformattings," then I would run,
don't walk from Mylex. If, however, it's just a rumor, please don't scare
everyone away.
That being said, I still prefer NCR/Tekram from a price/performance point
of view. YMMV.
