Hey guys. IBM FINALLY gave me permission to change the crappy little windows machine I use for graphics into a Linux machine. My only two concerns are that my dept uses a token ring for its ethernet; I've no experience with using Linux on a token ring. I read the mini-HOWTO, it basically said to simply compile support into the kernel, which is easy enough, but does it act like a eth0? what is it, tok0? Anyone with some experience here? Also, since I will still need the ability to create graphics I need the ability to use truetype fonts in applications like the Gimp. I know there is a xttf server out there, do i just need to install it, will applications like the Gimp be able to use standard ttf fonts off the net with xttf installed and running? Now if they'll just let me run Linux instead of AIX on my workstation...=) -- Tom Carlile [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- randomly generated Star Wars quote: In my experience, there's no such thing as luck. -- Obi Wan Kenobi --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
