I've just upgraded to 2.2, and I'm now pondering consolidating my TV, stereo, etc. into my Linux box, since my computer speakers are much better than those on my TV and stereo, combined. :) I'm also thinking about buying a 3-D positional audio enhancing device. So, assuming the thing works, I could have a fairly awesome mini-entertainment center, and ditch my stereo and TV completely. :) Anyhow, I've been researching 2.2's support for TV tuners, and I'm somewhat confused. I know about programs like xawtv for using TV cards, but what software is available for radio tuners? Also, I've never really looked in stores for TV tuners. Does someone know of a common and inexpensive card for either TV, radio or both, which can be bought at any local retail stores, since I'd rather not order online. Someone recommended a wintv card but, aside from being scared by the name, he/she mentioned that the radio tended to interfere with the TV on lower-frequency stations. Is this something which is unavoidable, or are there other inexpensive but good cards? I'm also looking for something that supports cable, if that makes a difference. Thanks a bunch. ,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. > Nolan Darilek | < > [EMAIL PROTECTED] | University of Texas at Austin< > [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Freshman, Computer Science < > ICQ: 15709478 | Orientation Advisor, 1999 < > http://resnet-21-203.dorm.utexas.edu/~nolan/ | < `-----------------------------------------------------------------------------' "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." -- Albert Einstein --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
