after chatting with the owner of desert books (a way cool bookstore selling ORA and
other
computer books at really low prices) he invited me to a "gathering" in his store next
Friday
from 6pm to 8pm. he said a lot of CS people were coming and that there would be a
performance by the Slashdot girls. obviously that last part sparked my interest....=)
i have no idea what the slashdot girls are, but it sounds pretty cool.
he told me to bring people, i thought some people on this list might want to drop by.
he'll order any book for you quickly and discount it close to 35-40%. swing by and
show him why he should stock more Linux books.
desert books is in the basement of Bank One on the drag. Bank One is slant-across
from Dobie and is near that cooly named "Kung Fu Herb" place.
go in the front doors and make a sharp left, you'll see it.
you can't say no to slashdot girls...can you?
