A friend of mine just got an OLD labtop. We're talking a 286 w/ 1 MB
RAM. Unfortunately, the floppy drive doesn't work and Longhorn Computers
told him it'd be $300 to find a new floppy drive for that kind of
machine. And I think they said $100 for an external. However the HD
still works and has Word 5.0 and it prints on my computer without any
problem.
The question is:
If I connect a parallel cable to his computer and mine and let his
print, can I capture it somehow? (I could do this with a serial cable to
if necessary).
Thanks for any help.
(BTW, about the mp3 player controversy I sorta started, well, I d/l'd
mpg123 and it uses about 20% of resources. Kmpg hovers around 50% and
x11amp around 50% as well. Both of those have a process called splay-yaf
that uses all the resources. I don't know what this splay-yaf is. The
point is that mpg123 seems to be much faster. At least on my machine.)
Another Announcement: Gnome 1.0 is out. (In case you didn't see it on
Slashdot or FreshMeat.)
