zarc [290] [3:24pm] [/home/zeke/mpsayler] -> dpkg --search curses.h
libncurses4-dev: /usr/include/curses.h
libncurses4-dev: /usr/include/ncurses.h

So, do you have libncurses4-deb installed?

apt-get install libncurses4-dev

should get and/or verify that you have got it. I think I remember having
this problem on my debian box at one time.. I'm pretty sure I just didn't
have this package installed.

In other news, I installed slink/SPARC today on an SS10. Its console
is so much faster than the SunOS default one it just blows me away.
That and having multiple virtual terminals is worth it alone.
I guess I'll have to see how X works. I tried to use dselect
but ftp.debian.org is wedged with new install people and
llug.sep.bnl.gov doesn't seem to have all the SPARC stuff. I
was going to try doing some remote admin from the bottom
Taylor before class but it looks like the default setup is
not to allow any kind of net connects! :-) Have to look at
that security later.

I had not used Debian/SPARC before, but with the new release there
were finally release-quality install instructions that helped me
past the problem I had before. TFTP from another sparc and away
I went. SunOS on 1 1gb drive, Linux on the other.. :-)

                Matt
