Does anyone have any experience/advise for setting up sshd(both 1.x and 2.x) using shadow passwords on a RH 5.2 system? I'm trying to get it working, and on one system, simply running /usr/sbin/pwconv seems to work fine. I can still log into the machine remotely, etc... On the other machine, after running /usr/sbin/pwconv, ssh, telnet, ftp, etc... all fail to authenticate, and I am left at the login prompt. Both machines are running RH 5.2. The one that works well is running pam-0.64-3, and the other is running pam-0.64-2. Maybe that's the problem, but it seems odd that the 0.64-3 release would work fine, and the other not at all.
