I am a new Linux user. I am running RedHat 5.2.

In "EzPPP How To", which "The Quick and East UT-Dialup Setup for Linux"
refers to, it states that I can check to see if my Linux kernel already
supports PPP by viewing the /var/log/messages. If I do not seee the line
"PPP: version 2.2.0 (dynamic channel allocation)" then my kernel does not
support PPP.

I am a bit confused because the installation guide that came with RedHat
5.2 says the "PPP, SLIP, PLIP and loopback devices are supported" yet I
cannot find the above message in /var/log/messages.

Does anyone know if RedHat 5.2 has PPP support or do I need to build a
custom kernel?

Thanks,
Lillie Anderson
