I wanted to run my linux/win95 installation by you guys to see if
I've missed anything.
I had a 1gig drive with only Linux on it and recently purchased a
5gig drive. They are both IDE drives. The original config was
the 1gig as 1st IDE master and the CDrom as 1st IDE slave.
To install win95, I put the 5gig as 1st IDE master, CDrom 1st IDE slave.
That worked fine. Then I changed it to the way I wanted it to end
up with the 1gig 1st master and the 5gig 2nd IDE master. However
win95 ran about 1/20th as fast as it shoulda because it didn't like
it that some unkown format was on the 1st IDE.
Since Linux knows about win95, I put the 5gig on 1st IDE master and
the 1gig on the 2nd IDE master (cdrom still 1st IDE slave). Win95
liked that just fine. Then I used a boot floppy and changed
/etc/lilo.conf and /etc/fstab to point to /dev/hdc instead of
/dev/hda. Linux seems to be happy with this too.
So, what am I missing if anything?
