According to Ashok Kumar, an analyst with Piper Jaffray, a fully equipped PC
will be announced next month that will cost $499. The machine will be
marketed by E-Machines, which is a joint venture between Trigem, a Korean PC
maker, and Korean Data Systems.  The machine, which will be sold in stores
such as Office Depot and Computer City, will have a Cyrix M2-266, 32 MB RAM,
3.2 GB hard drive, a V.90 modem, and 14 inch monitor for $549. Toss in a $50
rebate and you get $499.
