Web Cache Installed for Telesys

--William C. Green, ACITS

The College of Liberal Arts, together with ACITS, has purchased a
Cacheflow 1000 for the Telesys dial-up system. The Cacheflow is a Web
caching device intended to improve Web response times. It works by storing
frequently accessed Web objects locally so that when a request for a
cached object arrives, it is returned immediately. Thus users need not
wait for an overloaded server across a congested link to respond with the
same information. In addition to improved response times for users, the
Cacheflow should also conserve Internet bandwidth.

at any rate, it's not linux' fault =)
