Ethernet problems

After upgrading the kernel to 2.2.5, my ethernet connection doesn't seem to work any more.  The DHCP daemon didn't work, and even after I upgraded it to the newest version it still can't get the info.  The ethernet card works, did the ifconfig test, so I know it's not that.  I'm looking at dorm.utexas.edu and 128.83.185.[41 40 19] for the name server, but it doesn't seem to find it.  Any ideas?
