Replacing hundreds of 10Mbit hubs isn't something resnet is looking
forward to.  As far as both money and labor are concerned.  It really is a
moot point if you stick to normal ethernet cards.  The hubs only get picky
with MAC address spamming, and cards trying to link at 100Mbit.  Something
that is only a problem with second-rate NICs.  Linksys cards account for
90% of resnet problems even though they only make up 10% of the NICs in
the dorms.  I can't complain about free 10Mbit access.
