I have this kind of NIC in a box, and I'm trying to do an FTP install,
but RARP always fails, I can manually type in the domain name and all
that, but if the RARP failed than basically it means the networking
isn't enabled. I'm pretty sure it's not the card, because I tried an SMC
Ultra (10 Mbps) and the same thing happened. I know the cable is good,
and that it's a CAT5. The only thing I could think of was the NIC not
negotiating with the hubs we have, since they're 10 Mbps only. So I ran
the diag on the driver disk and that seemed to auto-sense to work with
the hubs just fine. Perhaps the card needs to be told to use those
settings explicitly, but I couldn't see an option to do the. I know that
it's not a problem with resource conflicts, I already checked /proc for
IRQ and I/P port info. I'm burning a CD as we type, but would like to
figure out why it isn't working. Thanks in advance.
