this is wrong, it can't be .60 with that subnet mask (might not be able to
be .60 ever, I haven't done the figuring).
basically, your machine doesn't have a route to it's own network:
198.214.142.0
> 127.0.0.0 * 127.0.0.0 U 3584 0 0 l0
> default 198.214.142.250 0.0.0.0 UG 1500 0 0 eth0
