Three-Sixteen Technical Services, Inc announced the availability of 5-day Linux
training classes in
central Texas. Thomas Cameron, the president of the company, said, "We are really
excited about
offering these classes. The Linux operating system is fast, stable, and
multi-talented, and we are
proud to be able to pass along the expertise we have developed over the last
several years of building
Internet sites and networks based on Linux." The classes are offered in day and
evening sessions, and
cover history, architecture, Linux commands, X-windows, administrative functions,
account
management, network connectivity (Internet, Windows, Novell, and UNIX), printing,
software
installation and management, system initialization, kernel tweaking, and
installation and
configuration. Several distributions will be discussed, with a focus on RedHat
Linux. Class participants
will each have their own Pentium II-based computer to work with. Students will
receive a copy of
"RedHat Linux Unleashed" and a copy of RedHat Linux version 6.0 on CD.
