  You can buy all kinds of software to "shrink" an existing partition
without losing data, but DON'T go buy it. The very best utility comes on
the RH CD, called FIPS. You make a W95 bootdisk, copy FIPS.EXE and about 3
other files to the disk, boot to floppy, and just follow your nose. It's
probably not idiot-proof, but it is pretty straightforward. I use it a
lot, even on non-linux boxen.
  Standard Warning - If you do not make backups, you will most certainly
require them. Murphy has so decreed.
