I found the binary images on ftp.eecs.umich.edu and burned a copy, then was able
to boot off the rescue disk image and use the CDs to install. I was able to get
through the install and the machine booted fine afterwards, I left it at the
screen where you select extra packages. Hopefully that part will go as well as 
the base install went. RedHat 6.0 didn't want to install at all, and RedHat 5.2
wouldn't boot after finishing the install, probably because I have an SS1 more
than anything.
