What you want to do is, on the laptop, type "xhost + <servername>" to allow the
server to establish a connection to the Xserver on the laptop. The way you were
doing it, you could telnet to the laptop from the server and run an X app off
the laptop using the server's display.

This means the machine you are running the command on (the server) can't connect
to the specified Xserver (on the laptop).
