Hey Gary,

I have the Rage Fury and I love it! Blazing fast 3D in win98. Yes its true -
it has 32M ram, hardware DVD decoder, TV out. I got mine OEM for $153. Linux does not
support it directly through an accelerated server. Instead, you have to use the Frame
Buffer Device. You can find docs at http://www.0wned.org/~cain/ragefury.htm to set up
your XServer. I run mine at 1280x 32bpp. I highly recommend it. If you plan to buy it,
I know a place here in town that sells it OEM $153.

>i found that the rage 128 chipset which is in the ATI Rage Fury (and others
like All in wonder 128). has anybody used it on an X server (i think it's
3.3.1 and later) also what about windows 9x and nt performance? i hear
it's great with open gl and Direct 3D. i also read it has DVD hardware
decode built in along with s-video and composite output. is this real or
too good to be true?

also, isn't ATI a Canadian company? if this is true, does that mean that
tech support will be long distance and possible returns for defects will
have to cross international lines?

thanks a bunch.
