I'm having a rather peculiar problem with squid and pppd on startup. Dial-up connection takes about 30 seconds to establish - obviously by this time I already have a prompt and squid has been loaded. If pppd has not brought ppp0 up by the time squid has finished loading (ie: squid + 5 dnsserver processes) it never connects to the remote end. pppd is in my inittab - it will continuously die, pause, die pause, until squid is terminated. Once ppp0 *is* up, I can load squid without any trouble - and kill pppd after that as many times as I like without having it die on me. Anyone heard of this before?
