I know I asked about this a while back but I never really got it figured
out.. I dumped the smp system I had, but just built a dual celeron -
How do I get tools like top to recognize both cpus?
also, do any of you guys know a good way to benchmark overall performance
increases under linux? I'm going to try and write an article for my
website on the dual celeron system and I'd like to have some sort of
comparative results to show how much perf. is gained from adding the
second cpu, etc..I've done a few kernel builds, which is a decent way to
show one kind of performance increase, but it isn't really a sufficient
reason to go for the system unless you're a kernel developer :)
