I use Sygate on my win95 machine to proxy my lil network. It works remarkably well; very easy to set up and I hardly notice it's running (almost no impact on processor). It isn't free, though. Yes, someday I'll get rid of this winmodem, destroy the last vestiges of micros~1 from this system, and set up a linux proxy... But until then Sygate does it for me. -tom At 12:51 AM 8/13/99 , Gary Tsai wrote: >Hi all, > >does anybody know how to set up a proxy server? i know this is a linux >group, but i have to run this on somebody else's computer, and they have >NT/95. has anybody worked with WinGate, Proxy98, or other "free" programs? >I've heard that if you install NT 4 Server and MS Proxy it'll work pretty >well, but that requires a dedicated machine, and MS stuff takes lots of >memory and stuff. > >Thanks, >GT --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
