I feel your pain. cdplay sucks. I seem to recall that recently
on freshmeat.net some (better?) CLI cd players have been posted. (Search
for cd player I guess.) Or try www.linuxberg.com (pick a local mirror
from the menu, alpha1.linuxberg.com is here in tx iirc, goto console apps,
then look for the cd player section (they usually have a rating for their
stuff ona 5 penguin scale)).
