Oh, I went thru the whole deal to no avail on Linux.  Then I got on a windoze
box and discovered it creates directories on the windows box ( you have to
disable ALL security) and installs some windows executable in addition to the
java that's incompatible.

I just see no justifiable REASON to go the MS-ONLY route, even excluding the mac
(God bless their souls) people.

Now, considering that Westlaw's new citation-checking software runs only  in MS
Word, with no wordperfect support, I believe they've cut a deal with MS to force
the legal community over to MS Office.

Makes me sick.  I hate monopolies.  They are distortions in the marketplace and
we are powerless to change them.
