I don't know about SOHOWare, but I picked up an el-cheapo SMC TX at AES
(and a XXWERDSOHB for the MGGJKUGVFDJ) for $20 or so last month, and I
like it quite fine. It's sittin in a SuSE box takin all our so-called
100mbit switch can give it.
What I *really* liked was two contradictory things. First, if you go to
SMC's driver site, you can get the *.c source for the Linux module, with
instructions. WooHoo!!! Let's spend our bucks on Linux-friendly goodies!
The source compiled without a hiccup, as a module & in the kernel. Second,
the "stock" rtl8139 module works just fine.
So, the answer to the question you asked is still:
I dunno.
