I just upgraded my KDE to 1.1, which is still old I know, but on to the
point. I've been having some weird problems with programs not running
correctly. I've been trying to use kppp, which is a simple gui for pppd
connections and I get the following error if I start it from a term:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
kppp: cannot connect to X server :0.0
Anyone know why this would be. This only happens with my user name, not
as root. Both as myself and as root, kppp asks me for a password before
they start- though I'm not sure what that means. And I just realized that
some of my other apps are broken. It seems that sometimes ( I think maybe
only while I'm connected) none of my apps will execute from the desktop
or kpanel. Does anyone know if this is K related or X related? I should
mention that kppp, worked fine until I upgraded, but it had the suid bit
set :( Which is one of the reasons I upgraded. TIA for any help.
