This may be a dumb question.

My /etc/hosts files has a single entry:
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain

I set my hostname to sark, when I log into GNOME, it tells me it can't
reach sark. If I list sark in /etc/hosts with a fake IP, it still can't
reach it. Would it be bad to try and set the hostname according to the
address I'm assigned from RR? Where would I do that? I could set
127.0.0.1 to point to sark, but I thought localhost was important.
Anyhow everything works, it's just annoying.
