I'm using a "WinTV-Go" card from Hauppauge that's great. It was about $50
and set up pretty simply in Linux. Haven't tried it in a Windows machine,
so I couldn't tell ya about the software that comes with it. It uses the
bttv modules under Video4Linux. There's KWinTV & XawTV for watching TV.
Both progs allow video capture (still or .avi; no mpeg) surfing, and
cable, antenna, or VHS input.
