Through a very odd turn of events, I've ended up doing UNIX (Solaris and Linux) development at a "100% microsoft shop". I don't have any problem finding the development tools I need, but I could certainly use some help in trying to fit into the rest of their backward twisted proprietary microsoft world. First and formost is mail. They use microsoft exchange and the MIS guy refuses to run a pop/imap server for mail access. Apparently they do some sort of scheduling stuff through exchange that they can't get if people use standard mail protocols for delivery. Since I don't plan on booting the NT side of my machine, I really need to find some way to interact with their mail server. Has anyone had any experience with this? Second, I need to figure out how to get samba up and running to access the local file servers and printers. I've glanced over the docs but seeing as how I know nothing about windows based network technologies, I don't really follow everything. If you have any experience with this type of thing, please let me know. I am sure I will have many many questions over the coming days. Maybe we can start "microsoft survivors" support group therapy sessions or something. In the meantime, I think I'll play a game of xbill to get my frustrations out. ___________________________________________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] soli deo gloria --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
