  Wow - now if THAT isn't a scary precedent, I don't know what is!

  But, I'm not sure I follow the logic.  If you run a public mail 
server, aren't you aying "send me mail" just like having a phone
says "call me".  Now of course if that public resource is abused 
(crank calls, spam, etc...) then you can take action.  But to
say that you must have prior permission to email or call someone
just doesn't seem right.

  Should I need to be authorized before I can hit a website?  An FTP
site?  I public resource is a public resource.  As long as the access
isn't hostile or abusive, what is the problem?
