you might also check out the "setfont" command. i've been using the same
superfly text-mode font since my slackware days...redhat and slackware both
stuck them in a subdirectory called "consolefonts" somehwere different in
the /usr tree. my favorite is the one called only "t". there are some
really wacky ones out there (and this works for non-vga-based consoles too,
i use it on my ppc machine) like scrawl and broadway (yup, that broadway).
but the ones that are readable are far fewer than the number that exist =)
and of course theres a textfont design tool but i forget what it is called.
this is completely usermode and can be done multiple times after boot with
no lilo/kernel intervention.
