This printer isn't actually postscript and thus doesn't work 'out of the box' with any linux printing solutions - I'm wondering if I can still share it with Samba over a network and allow client Windows PCs to talk to the printer with the HP driver (the linux box in between merely passing data between printer and network). I don't want to print from Linux - only sharing the printer for raw data over the LAN (sort of like copying a text.prn file from the HP driver to LPT1 under DOS). Is this doable? How about bidirectional communication over the LAN to tell client PCs paper out, double-sided, etc.?
