Thanks for everybody who replied. I will check my modelines carefully
against the sync ranges after I come back to Austin. It is kind a strange,
if a modeline contains an unsupported sync range, I would expect it to be
deleted from the Xconfigurator ... Anyways, I will check. The thing is my
monitor is a Dell P991 and it is not on the XFree86 list. So, I just chose
a close Dell model. But its spec said that it can go 85Hz at1280x1024 and
my vedio is Xpert98 8MB.
Anyways, people (Doc) were telling me that I should not push the limit for
a Dell monitor. Would it make the monitor live much shorter? I think
monitors can last a long time, don't they?
