Was TiK what you tried? All the strings within tik are defined in
tik/strs/English.strs. If you want that changed, just edit that file. TiK
development has recently been jumpstarted after it was put up on
sourceforge.net. Check out tik.sourceforge.net Lots of exciting stuff is
happening. (And I'm learning bits of tcl/tk haphazardly.)

Anyway... TiK is probably the _least_ cute AIM client out there (other
than the command line ones like tac). Wait till we add graphical smilie
support... ;) Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with cuteness... there's
plenty of meaty stuff you can do in TiK (stock/weather/SlashMeat monitor,
tcl/tk command console, etc)

P.S. And we can always use more developers. Especially if you have
experience with tcl/tk, the TOC protocol, etc. Not essential though... I
started by just hacking the code based on what I saw.
