I am helping someone with his SB 16. since I don't have physical access,
I guessed on most of the hardware stuff...
it's a machine with 2.0.36 kernel. I loaded the sb driver with
sb io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=-1
catting a wave file to /dev/dsp seems to work fine (except on some wave
file, the sound came out funny, but most of them, sound came out right).
then I tried to play some mp3 song. I used xaudio to play....
but xaudio told me dma timed out...
I also tried to load sb with other dma channel..seems like only dma1 and
3 works...not sure if this is a driver problem or xaudio problem..
