First question (ontopic):
        What's the practical difference, if any, between "cp -a" (same as
"cp -dpR") and the "tar cf - | (cd blah; tar xf - )" method for copying
filesystems? I've used both with success, GNU cp of course. Also, there's
another varient out there using xargs, any reason why?

Second question(offtopic):
        Some of y'all have old SPARC hardware lying around,
IPC/IPX/LX/2/Classic/4/5, etc., and at one time were thinking of selling
some of it. If you're still interested, I'm interested in buying
some. Depends on model and ram availability. Also, anybody with 30pin or
72pin SIMMs, parity or not. Or even FPM DIMMs, if you happen to have some,
maybe out of a Powermac 7500/8500/9500.

                                                                -Alex
