I had a dual P3-500 w/ 512 mb ram w/ Matrox G200 running linux at work and
also a P2-300 running NT X'ing into the other one... I noticed the same
thing about moving terminals or switching virtual desktops. (the windows
one was MUCH faster.) I changed down the resolution and bit-depth on the
dual and it was fine. Maybe that's not the answer you are looking for.
At least make sure you are in the same bit-depth and resolution when you
make comparisons. The G200 seems to be MUCH zippier in 16-bit than in
24-bit mode.
