Hi all, I'm having some problems creating a NIS master domain server. I
run /var/lib/yp/ypinit -m and I get an error that I don't know how to
fix. This is after doing a "domainname SOMETHING". Here is the results
of the ypinit.

        gmake[1]: Entering directory `/var/yp/SOMETHING'
        Updating passwd.byname...
        Updating passwd.byuid...
        Updating group.byname...

        Updating hosts.byaddr...
        Updating rpc.byname...
        Updating rpc.bynumber...
        Updating services.byname...
        Updating netid.byname...
        Updating protocols.bynumber...
        Updating protocols.byname...
gmake[1]: *** No rule to make target `/etc/netgroup', needed by
        `netgroup'. Stop.
        gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/var/yp/SOMETHING'
        make: *** [target] Error 2
        Error running Makefile.
        Please try it by hand.

somnething.swestbrook.org has been set up as a NIS master server.

Now you can run ypinit -s something.swestbrook.org on all slave
server.
        [root@something yp]#

To me it looks like most of it works, but unfortunately, it fails near the
bottom at: " gmake[1]: *** No rule to make target `/etc/netgroup', needed
        by `netgroup'. Stop.
        gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/var/yp/SOMETHING'
        make: *** [target] Error 2
        Error running Makefile.
        Please try it by hand.

I don't know what the error means or how to fix it. I can not bind to the
domain by restarting ypserv and ypbind. It gives me a Domain not bound
error.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance,
steven westbrook
