Hi, I just got Southwestern Bell's basic DSL service, and was wondering if
it's possible to use it w/ Linux...has anyone done it? I have the Alcatel
Speed Stream USB DSL modem, and it uses some software under Win98 that
establishes a a DSL connection. I couldn't just modify my network settings
in Windows to use DHCP. Swbell seems to have pretty bad
documentation/support. They sent me a packet on how to set up the network
settings, but it never worked. So I called them and had to download some
package that installed PPP.o.e(PPP over ethernet) drivers, which finally got
my DSL working. But I wanna skip all this crap and just run the DSL modem
into a Linux box, where I can do some firewalling. Any info?

Thanks in advance,

James
