I've scoured Dejanews, emailed Netscape, and stalked Marc Andreeson all to
no avail. Siglinux: the last resort.

I find that it's pretty easy to get addicted to using the little roller
thingy that Microsoft grafted onto the common mouse, particularly when
browsing web pages.

As far as I know, in order to get the roller to work in Netscape for
linux, one has to pass a bunch of keymap information on the command line
as in:

/usr/lib/netscape/netscape -no-about-splash -xrm
 "Netscape*globalNonTextTranslations: Ctrl<Btn4Down>: PageUp()\n
  Ctrl<Btn5Down>: PageDown()\n Shift<Btn4Down>: LineUp()\n
  Shift<Btn5Down>: LineDown()\n
  None<Btn4Down>:LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()\n
  None<Btn5Down>:LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()\n
  Alt<Btn4Down>: xfeDoCommand(forward)\n
  Alt<Btn5Down>: xfeDoCommand(back)\n
  <Key>KP_9: PageUp()\n <Key>KP_3: PageDown()\n <Key>KP_8: LineUp()\n
  <Key>KP_2: LineDown()\n <Key>KP_4: ColumnLeft()\n
  <Key>KP_6: ColumnRight()\n" $*

The problem is, that when you do this, the arrow keys (and the <Alt> arrow
keys) stop working in Messenger. Of course the best thing about Messenger
is that it's the only graphical MUA which can be completely operated from
the keyboard WHEN THE ARROW KEYS ARE WORKING. When they're not, it's a
pain in the ass like all other GUI fronted MUA's.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
