UNIX Systems for Modern Architectures: Symmetric Multiprocesssing
and Caching for Kernel Programmers. This is the book to get if you
want to really learn what is going on. The entire book is relevant,
unlike an operating systems book, which would only have a chapter or
two on this subject.
