I haven't tried Q2, but I've been playing Q3A on my machine just fine using Debian 2.2, XFree86 4.0.2, Kernel 2.4.2, NVidia 0.9-6 drivers (GF2MX). If you're running debian 2.2, the RPMS are available for xf86 4.0.2 at http://people.debian.org/~cpbotha . After you have 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 working just follow NVidia's docs exactly.
