Ok, I have two completely unrelated (on different computers) problems:
1) I have a SoundBlaster Live card on my computer at home. Right now I'm
using the Esound drivers to make it work. The problem is, esd dosent run
at boot time, so I have to invoke it from a console if I want to hear
sound. Is there any way to have esd run at boot? Or more generally, is
there a better set of drivers for making this card work?
2a) My laptop has been having problems with pcmcia cards. First off, my
pcmcia ethernet card (3com etherlink 3) has recently stopped working
under the 2.4 kernel. The module loads correctly, an eth0 interface is
brought up under ifconfig, but it is missing the line that shows the
inet address. Also, it recieves packets, but does not send them. It works
fine under 2.2, but I would much rather use 2.4 because of the better APM
support.
2b) Also, my wireless card has never worked under the 2.4.x kernel (only
2.2.x). It is a D-Link card (PrismII based). Any ideas on how to make this
work under 2.4 would be appreciated.
Both computers are running Debian Sid, 2.4.3 kernel.
Sorry it became three problems... at least two of them are very similar.
