You should check your arp tables manually (use the arp command).  (Proper
MAC addresses are more important w/ switches than hubs.) Do the status
lights on the switch showing speed and duplex match the settings on the
machines?

Also look at the error statistics on the router. (use ifconfig and nestat
-s.)

I had a mean problem like this before. I gave up and ended up throwing
$250 of new network gear and $150 of new computer at the problem & it
went away. *shrug*
