Seems like last meeting I went to was at Spider House at the end of the spring semester. I think there was only 5-6 of us there. I would be up for another at the beginning of the fall.
As far as WMs, I still use KDE2.2 for everything except my laptop, on which I use KDE3, or enlightenment when I don't want the overhead. Enlightenment runs all the KDE apps I need, it uses about 10% of the memory KDE does, and it's still fairly pretty.
