I had it working earlier this summer using the 0.14 stable series. After I screwed up my debian setup beyond repair, I could not get it to work again after reformatting. There's issues in wlan-ng with AP detection when multiple networks on different channels are in use. Its either not binding to the channel I specify, or not binding to the NWID I specify, I cannot tell for sure. I ended up going to OpenBSD for the time being, the prism2 support is excellent and I wrote a little shell script to move between my home AP and campus.
As far as configuration goes, the default action in .opts is to do nothing, I commented that out and added entries for my WAP's MAC w/ wep keys, network name, and another entry after that which would bind to any network, including UT's.
